Dr. Tanya Marotta, Riverside County Veterinarian

Dr. Marotta

Dr. Marotta has been passionate about animals for as long as she can remember. Growing up in a military family meant moving all over the country, but she has always considered California home. Her love for animals led her to begin working on a horse ranch during high school, where that early passion grew into a lifelong commitment to veterinary medicine.

She earned her degree from UC Davis, majoring in Animal Science with a minor in Japanese, before continuing her education at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed the livestock-specific track, developing a strong foundation in production medicine and individual animal care.
Dr. Marotta has a special interest in acute and chronic wound management and enjoys helping farmers and owners develop comprehensive herd and farm health plans while providing exceptional care for each individual animal. She has a particular passion for small ruminants, especially sheep and goats, and has a soft spot for chickens, too!

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Marotta proudly embraces her “old lady hobbies,” including crocheting, knitting, reading, and embroidery. She shares her life with Maple, her dog; Quinn, her big horse; and two miniature horses, Sprinkles and Sundae. When she isn't admiring her animals, she and her partner enjoy getting outdoors for hiking and camping.

Dr. Marotta is excited to bring her passion for livestock medicine, individualized patient care, and whole-herd health to our community!
